Benny & Me

Ernest Hemingway said it best, but when you write fiction, it’s not always necessary or true. "We write best about that which we have experienced." Benny and Me is not based on personal experiences. It is the story of an eighty-two-year-old man’s life and experiences, which are strictly fictional. Could his story have happened as it was being written? Absolutely! America was vastly different then, than today.

Benny and Me is about a way of life in America that no longer exists. People over the age of fifty will enjoy this book because they identify with it as it rekindles plenty of their past and childhood memories. Younger ones learn about their elders’ way of life; one they didn’t know existed. This book helps to bridge the existing generation gaps by explaining them.

The main message is, "What goes around, comes back around," meaning, do good and you will be rewarded by having good happen to you, do bad, and you will be punished. I credit God for life being that way even though Benny in me is not a religious book.
