Culebra is a fast-paced political thriller novel inspired by Operation Pedro Pan, a secret program that rescued over fourteen thousand Cuban children from Communism between 1960 and 1962.

In 1962, fifteen-year-old Alfredo is forced to flee Cuba, facing an uncertain future in the USA. After a harrowing rescue from a sinking boat in the Florida Straits, he's taken to a Catholic refugee camp near the Everglades.
