Founder of Qatar
"Omar AL-EJLI is an Iraqi scholar and historian. He was born in Baghdad, 1953. He received his BA (Economics) from Basrah University, 1976 and his MA (Economics) from Basrah University too. He got his PhD from the Arab History Institute for Higher Studies, Baghdad, 1997.
He has established Nahawand Center in Singapore. The Center is mainly concerned with studying the Ottoman Archive from which several studies were published. Based on his work, two critically-acclaimed TV series were created. He has published three books in Arabic; "Economic System of the Abbasside Dynasty", "Sheikh Jassim Al-Thani: Founder of Qatar" and "Sultanate Oman: Economic and historical conditions". He wrote several articles in renowned journals in history, economics, culture and religion. He is a member of:
- The Arab Historian Union.
- Human Rights & International Organization For Developments.
- The Arab Union for the Protection of intellectual rights.
and the Japanese Society for Cultural Dialogue. He is fluent in Arabic, English and Esperanto. AL-EJLI is currently residing with his family in Doha, Qatar."
