Freeway Entrance
The year 1973 was a special time in America--gas was cheap and the speed limit wasn't fifty-five miles per hour. Nixon was leaving, and the nation's children were no longer being sent to Southeast Asia or shot on college campuses.
For two eighteen-year-old friends on Eastern Long Island, it seemed like good time to hitchhike across the country.
