Poisonous Band-Aid
Poisonous Band-Aid is absolutely pointing out on how toxic and poisonous a medication such as benzodiazepine has been from the moment it was prescribed many decades ago as a Band-Aid for daily stresses and anxieties. We could only hope benzodiazepines were just a Band-Aid that we could use for as long as we needed and then ripped off when our anxiety becomes manageable to deal with-if only it were that simple! For me personally, benzodiazepines started ruining entire aspects of my life as soon as I tried to taper off of them after nine months of constant use. If I was tapered off of them after only a month of taking benzos, yes, I would have most likely ripped off the Band-Aid and move forward with dealing with my generalized anxiety disorder and social anxiety through talk therapy and actual healthy ways! But the healthcare system of the United States prescribes benzodiazepines like candy in most places and doesn't warn patients of the major problems constant usage of it can possibly cause. Although a lot of people still feel normal after using benzos for many months or years off and on, there are so many people like me whose body became extremely dependent to benzos to the point where normal functioning is absolutely impossible. Effects from benzos in the body are totally noticeable unless one successfully withdraws from them, and when one does finally get rid of it after almost a miracle, one would think how much money, friends, family, piece of one's self, and, most importantly, time were lost. Your life will never be the same; if so, never ever lose your voice! Ask for help, seek connections, and never lose hope for a better tomorrow because it will come if you just hold on long enough.
