Song for My Father
Song for My Father is refreshing narrative about a young man in Los Angeles. There is nothing exceptional about him except for the fact that he manages to make bad decisions on a regular basis and his values need to be reexamined.
There is a constant vein throughout the book that gives it a basic foundation as he and his friends grow up during the unprecedented times of the sixties.
During this period and part of the seventies, the value system was redefined. For some, it meant a restructuring of beliefs and ideals; for some, there was a doubling down on existing ideals and beliefs; and for others, for one reason or another, it was disastrous.
