STRATEGIZE THIS
Today's business environment, more than any time in history, requires a great need to plan, not only to survive, but to win. This book offers a road map, a blueprint which, if followed, assures success. The timing is critical.
Strategic Planning for business organizations, with a focus on large, publicly owned businesses, has been around for decades. Much of what has been written to date has been authored by academicians with little or no practical experience, or by technocrats' intent only on securing data to support a position. No book has been written, until now, that will help the over three million privately held organizations that make up much of the economy.
This book offers organizations, for the first time, an opportunity to follow a proven process that is structured to their needs. The book tells of one group in action, following a step-by-step session using the process with resulting success. It also demonstrates results for another group that is more concerned with not failing than planning for the future.
This book addresses the issue of strategy (the framework that determines the nature and direction of an enterprise.) He also addresses the use of objective (the commitment to results.) The book is in the form of a novel for readability.
The storyline follows two organizations, both currently successful with two very different strategies. One organization is focused on positioning for growth, the other is focused on positioning not to fall. The text covers developing a plan for growth through all phases of thinking, planning, implementing, and controlling. The final chapter discloses the results of the plans for the respective organizations.
