Territory of a Nation
In the book, the first character, whose name is Devin, learns about a friend's night out. It had aroused him after the excessively proud and boastful talk about the fun he had at a nightclub. It was a curious situation for him. Traveling down the states, he knew it was once an opportunity he had passed when driving through the town-the exact town where the nightclub was located. But it became a strange feeling traveling to the town. He was uneasy, even though he kept on driving through the town. At the party, he met a young woman; then afterward, he began having episodes of intense fear. He spent days and nights wondering what was happening. He was cautious about the danger around him until one morning, he woke up to a stranger's voice coming from his mother's kitchen. He ran into the kitchen to find no one, only his mother standing there. He asked who was there. She only replied, "Do you want breakfast?" which prompted Devin to leave the house. On the return home, he was in the face of danger.
