MY STORY:
I am a first time author and high school student in Michigan. It's been a dream of mine, seven years in the making, to publish this book. It all began as a doodle of a character I created in 1st grade. It was a cartoon cat wearing a suit and I named him "The Cat in the Tux". At the time my teacher was beginning to teach us how to write so I decided to create a story based on my character.
I came up with the idea behind my book because my Uncle had asked me to be a Ring Bearer in his wedding the previous year when I was only 5 years old. At the time I had no idea what that meant, nor had I ever even experienced wedding.
I was so adamant to publish my story that I had my mom buy me a blank hardcover book so that I could really make it look official. I felt so confident this would help me get it published and I was truly on a mission to do so! What can I say, I was seven and had big dreams of being a publisher and selling my books!
The original book I wrote was eventually packed away, but resurfaced during the pandemic when I was going through some old boxes. With some research, I was able to submit my manuscript and book idea to Page Publishing and they loved it!
My love for helping others combined with my own personal experience made me decide to share my experience hoping that maybe it could help other children understand the experience and not be afraid of being in a wedding party. My experience has shown that dreams really can come true, even though it may take some time. And now I would like to share my book with the world!
