The Paragon Papers
Harlan Gentry worked his way through the ranks of the courts under the watchful eyes of seniors such as one of his best friends, Fred. With his twenty-one years of experience, Fred Lasser was on a so far, fruitless effort to bring peace to the dwindling peoples of Maestil, in order to end the bloodletting between the two factions known as the yellow and the green races.
Despite the effort of the past ten years, things were not going well, and times were worse than desperate. Fred was having heart trouble and had difficulty hiding the fact from his peers, but mostly from his fellow diplomat friend, Harlan, and from Harlan's wife of five years. With her aloofness toward Harlan and her extravagant spending, she was yet another problem, and combined with other real estate officials night after night, Harlan was feeling the pressure of his duties and the powerlessness of this situation. All happening in the name of racial purity, the yellow against the green.
But turning around at the top of the ramp, he discovered something new had been added, and nothing would remain the same.
It was the beginning of a story without end.
