There were sixty million military and civilian fatalities in the eight years of merciless slaughter, including the unbelievable horrors of the Holocaust. Over 130 countries were embroiled in the two ocean conflict. The Diary is organized in an easy study format detailing both Allied and Axis battles year-by-year, month-by-month and day-by-day.The Diary goes further to include the witness of our lives at home throughout the war. A population of just over 130 million Americans responded with their personal true-grit dedication and full-time patriotism during those terrible years. At the same time, they had their at-home eventstheir shared distractions with movies, books, radio programs and music.
